Knock out roses are a popular series of rose shrubs that bloom and rebloom in spring, summer, and fall. The flowers are smaller than old fashioned and traditional roses, but you get way more pretty rose blooms and for much longer. They come in single and double flower types. The double bloom varieties have more petals on each bloom so they tend to look more like standard roses (just smaller). Knock outs also come in several colors including red, yellow, pink, white.
Knock out roses are more pest and disease resistant than traditional roses and do not require any tedious maintenance. You can prune them back severely in early spring to control size or invigorate the plant, but this isn’t necessary. Knock out roses do not need to be deadheaded for reblooming. These easy to grow roses self-prune their spent flowers!
