Enjoy adding blue hues of color to parts of your landscape. Look for places with reds and yellows to add contrast to. They are no maintenance and are great for adding clusters of blue color.
Just plant and sit back! Look for areas that are in full sun. This grass loves sun and is also great for borders around planting beds. Did you know that once established it is drought tolerant?
Its an evergreen so it will keep its icy blue color year round. Look for a height of 8-12 inches and about the same for its width.
Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!

This particular grass is not considered to be invasive due to it being compact and only growing 12 inches in height and 12 inches wide.
How To Grow Blue Fescue Grass
Plant in grow zones 4-10 with full sun exposure and well drained soil that has a ph level of 5.5 to 7.5 for optimal growth.
Can This Grass Live In The Shade?
Withstands some shade but do alot better in full sun conditions with well drained soil. Shady areas that hold more moisture and tend to shorten the life of your Fescue.
When planting your Blue Fescue grass choose the best location for this plant to thrive. Be sure to plant this grass in growing zones 4 to 10 This grass grows best in full sun and is adaptable to a variety of soil as long as it is well drained.
Water deeply once or twice weekly when newly planted (about 3 months) to help the roots grow properly. After the first year Blue Fescue is fairly drought tolerant and generally only needs water in hot, summer months. Fertilize lightly with a slow release, balanced fertilizer in spring for optimal growth. There is no need to prune this evergreen, ornamental grass.
Blue Fescue grass is extremely hardy as well as pest and disease resistant. It is also deer, rabbit, pollution, wind and salt tolerant.
