The Rose Glow Barberry is a very versatile shrub. It is a great shrub for beginner gardeners and can be used in a wide variety of ways to meet you landscaping needs. This beautiful shrub has astounding, red colored foliage. When new shoots start to form, the colors vary from spotted red to pink blotched foliage. The showy, variegated leaves change from purple to pink, making this shrub have a “glowing” effect.
The early spring brings little yellow flowers in clusters. Once the summer suns have passed the cool fall weather brings a vibrant red color to the foliage. Plant this barberry in full or part sun. These hardy shrubs are adaptable to just about any soil that drains well. After planting be sure to water deeply 1-2 times per week in order for the roots to grow properly.
When To Propagate
Propagate in the spring and water once a week until established. Applying 2-3 inches of mulch will help protect the roots in extreme temperatures and keep the soil moist.
